Newry & Mourne Outreach Service

What the Outreach Service Provides....

The Alzheimer's Society branch outreach service offers information, advice and emotional support to people with dementia and their carers through direct contact visits in or beyond the family home.

Carer Support Groups

Support groups give family carers an opportunity to meet other carers in similar situations and a chance to share their experiences, concerns and problems in an understanding and confidential setting. Support groups meet regularly in and around Newry, Mourne and South Armagh.

Carer Information and Education Programmes

Carer Information and Education Programmes are run periodically providing family carers, friends and relatives with the opportunity to learn about and discuss particular issues. Topics include: the nature and effects of dementia, communication strategies and availability of services in the Newry area.

Respite Care

In order to enable the carer to take part in the above activities respite care can be arranged.
